Our coverage of Elon Musk and DOGE, and more specifically Tesla, has been pretty extensive here at DemsMight, highlighting the endless issues that Elon is facing. And it’s not just issues presented, it’s failures.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court race seems to have taken a toll on Elon. His ego is hurting, and he might be starting to question his ability to bring change at all. Speculation about Musk’s departure comes as his influence in the Trump administration weakens. The New York Times reported last week that the acting commissioner of the IRS was being replaced after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent complained that Elon had his preferred candidate installed without Bessent’s support. Musk has also annoyed other cabinet members, like Trump’s secretary of transportation, by failing to coordinate with them in cost-cutting moves. That’s in addition to his recent problems with Trump adviser Peter Navarro, as we wrote here: The Dam Is Breaking.
