It's Fascism
Evil and fascistic.
There’s no other way to describe what we’re seeing right now. Frankly, what we’ve seen from the moment Trump was sworn in — not even bothering to place his hand on the bible. It’s evil, wrong, unAmerican. But it’s even more than that, it’s fascism. Trump’s administration is basically subcontracting Nayib Bukele as their herr of concentration. We’re talking concentration camps in El Salvador. An evil plot, but a highly sophisticated one.

By quickly and illegally shipping out migrants to El Salvador, Trump is making it more difficult for immigration lawyers, the courts and even SCOTUS to have a say. They’re moving fast, with not a single f*cking care for the law. Once these migrants reach El Salvador’s CECOT, a maximum security prison, now being used as a concentration camp, there are many significant logistical challenges to bring back wrongfully deported migrants, as it is being proven with Kilmar Abrego Garcia. A man wrongfully deported and accused of gang activity with no single shred of evidence.
The courts can rule — but for one: Their ruling must be very specific in the wording. In law, everything matters. And Trump and his minions, Stephen Miller and Attorney General Pamela Bondi are using every tool at their dispense. Propaganda, manipulation, stalling tactics. Even twisting straight facts, claiming that the Supreme Court’s 9-0 ruling on the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case was a ruling in their favor. It’s a sick game. We’ve seen this before.
They’re even saying that the SCOTUS ruling didn’t specify whether they needed to get involved — they’re saying ‘facilitate’ means if El Salvador wanted to release Kilmar Garcia, then they’d provide an airplane, that’s pretty much it. Their defense is twisted, fantasy-like, but weak.
With Marco Rubio and the rest of Trump’s clown-like and sick cabinet, the argument in the defense of Trump’s unconstitutional acts has been clear: The judges cannot control foreign policy, that’s the job of the president they say. And the media is easily shut down, as always, quiet, useless, a joke. But Trump and his minions are wrong. The judges aren’t conducting foreign policy, they’re checking on the president’s power. Ruling when necessary against unconstitutional acts — fulfilling their duty to protect everyday Americans from government overreach. It’s literally what the Founding Fathers intended: No unchecked power. No kings.
Then came the wanna-be dictator. For him, there’s no rules. The courts? He laughs. The law? He’ll ignore it, like he always does. But that won’t stop us from fighting. It can’t stop us, ever.
Now, the ball is in our court. The courts have the power to hold those who defy their orders in contempt of court. It would be a bold move, but it is within their power. And the courts can’t lose this power, if they do, there’s nothing else standing between the GOP’s sick game and us. If the courts were to use their power of contempt, US Marshals would then move to arrest those who defy their orders, and arrest them. But there are obstacles, US Marshals also report to the attorney general. This means, that even if courts exercise their power — their orders could be shut down by the rogue AG and the White House.
But it doesn’t end there. The truth is, the courts have other legal tools assuming the marshals go rogue: Civil contempt. Civil contempt can result in temporary jail time, a fine, or both. And with civil contempt, the courts can appoint anyone to execute the orders. This has rarely ever been used, but the courts have that power for a reason. Individuals from the court like security officers and probation officers as well as local police could technically execute these orders. You can read more about the specifics here: If the Marshals Go Rogue, Courts Have Other Ways to Enforce their Orders
Now, as far as Congress goes. The Democrats being in the minority means their means to fight back are limited. Limited, but not nonexistent. Under select committees Democrats can and must try to utilize the power of subpoena to press on Trump government officials who are openly defying court orders, even the Supreme Court. And while it’s true that the minority can’t just regularly and normally exercise the power of subpoena, there are ways the Democrats can try to get ahead.
First, Republicans majorities in Congress are down to a minimum, second, Democrats recently almost successfully had Elon Musk subpoenaed by holding a speedy-call to vote in the House Oversight Committee, in an attempt to catch Republicans by surprise. The measure failed by just two votes, with one Democrat not showing up. Congressional Democrats can fight back, but they’re stuck in the old politics. Stuck in the mud.
But not every Democrat in Washington is giving up. Senator Chris Van Hollen said that if necessary, he’ll travel to El Salvador to push for the release of Kimlar Abrego Garcia. And this is what we mean when we say Democrats need to fight. This is all it takes. Use Republicans’ own medicine against them. Turn it around, pressure them. Use the media to your advantage, make a scene out of the whole thing, expose the concentration camp, lead protest efforts, there’s so much more that can be done. And that must be done.
State courts and local governments can also do their part to protect their constituents. It’s their duty. Governors have legal tools to protect their citizens from government overreach. That includes the national guard.
Ultimately, and as always, we’re the last line of the defense. We, the people. And we must use every tool at our dispense to make sure that Trump’s attempt at unchecked power doesn’t go without consequences. Mass protests must follow, boycotts must continue, endless pressure, and a strike if necessary. Remember, they need us. Without our purchasing power, without workers, without a compliant society, the government is nothing. Nothing.
We can make their lives just as hard as they’re trying to make ours. There are millions of us. If we stand strong, united and pressure them relentlessly, they will break. It’s that simple. It’s a power that no court, judge or government official holds, the power of the people, the power of the masses. Of relentless and nonstop pushback.
Trump’s White House hopes that this goes down quietly, that eventually people just tune out and give up the fight. It’s their plan of breaking American democracy. We can’t let that happen.
